Overview

This course is for those who are looking to enhance their presentation and communication skills by utilising the power of story. Using appropriate, relevant, and compelling stories in any communication scenario will naturally help you to connect more fully with your audience. Discover how story can be used as a tool to build stronger connections in the workplace, create compelling and memorable content, and to drive visible change.

• Understand the science of storytelling and why humans are hardwired for story
• Examine common story themes that feature in the business world
• Understand the difference between personal, second-hand and public stories.
• Examine how to construct a compelling story
• Use emotional tactics to engage and inspire your audience through story
• Utilise a vocal and physical warm up to support your storytelling technique

Delivery style

Face-to-face at training venue
9am–5pm one full day

How to prepare

In the lead up to the course, think about a workplace situation which storytelling might resolve, or a specific circumstance in which you might like to use storytelling in your professional life.

We look forward to welcoming you from 8.30 am for tea and coffee. Please make sure you arrive by 8.45 am to ensure a prompt start. It is recommended to wear loose, comfortable clothing to move around in.

Arrival tea and coffee, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.

Course Fee
