Rebecca McNamee
Rebecca McNamee is a director, facilitator, communication specialist and educator who brings together expertise from the creative industries, corporate sector and adult learning. A graduate of NIDA’s MFA (Directing) program, Rebecca works across stage and screen, with award-winning projects screened internationally at festivals including LA Shorts, NY Shorts, Flickerfest and the Chicago International Shorts Festival. Her background as a writer, director and performer, combined with formal qualifications in Commerce, Economics and Education, gives her a rare ability to bridge creative and commercial worlds.
Before moving into the creative industries full-time, Rebecca built her career in corporate marketing and business, developing a deep understanding of organisational culture, stakeholder engagement and professional communication. This commercial experience, combined with her work in education and training, has shaped a facilitation style that is practical, insightful and strongly focused on real-world outcomes.
As a facilitator and presenter with NIDA Corporate, Rebecca works with professionals across a wide range of sectors, including finance, pharmaceuticals, medical technologies, FMCG and government. Drawing on her expertise in directing, storytelling, voice and performance, she helps individuals develop stronger communication, presentation and leadership capabilities. Her approach combines psychological safety with practical skill development, creating environments where participants can experiment, practise and grow in confidence.
Rebecca’s training extends beyond directing and education. She studied classical voice under Maree Ryan, Chair of Vocal Studies and Opera Studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and trained at Chicago’s renowned Second City in improvisation, writing and performance. These influences underpin her work as a communication coach, enabling her to help professionals become more engaging, authentic and persuasive communicators. Alongside her work with NIDA Corporate, Rebecca continues to develop new stage and screen projects and is recognised for her emotionally intelligent, performance-driven approach to storytelling and creative leadership. Whether working with executives, emerging leaders or creative practitioners, she helps people communicate complex ideas with greater clarity, confidence and impact.
