Discovering the Power of Pitching with Andrew Banks
This month, we partnered with Business Sydney to present The Power of Pitching: A Critical Skill for Every Business Professional.
As part of the event, we welcomed Andrew Banks, Shark Tank investor and entrepreneur, to join Terri Martin, Head of NIDA Corporate Training, for a fireside chat and a live demonstration of our pitching skills training.
Andrew generously shared insights from his career and reflections on what makes a pitch successful. From his early days as an actor, training with the Old Tote Theatre Company (now NIDA), to building a successful entrepreneurial career, he offered a unique perspective on the power of communication and influence. He also discussed what he looks for in a pitch today as an experienced investor.
Attendees also experienced a live demonstration of NIDA Corporate Training’s approach to developing presentation and pitching skills. Thank you to our senior tutor, Antony Grgas, and Annette Brodie, CEO of The Reconnect Project, who demonstrated how practical communication techniques can help even the most experienced leaders and presenters elevate their pitches from good to great.
Pitching extends far beyond winning new business. It begins with the job interview and plays a vital role in everyday workplace interactions, from presenting ideas and influencing stakeholders to fostering collaboration within teams.
