Want to make an impact in front of the camera or from behind the mic? NIDA’s Presenting for Media corporate training course is for professionals who need to deliver effective communications through a range of media. Learn the art of presenting for media from NIDA’s industry professionals.
Maximise your camera presence, connect with your audience and develop skills in delivering engaging radio interviews, and master auto cue technology.

Course Components
- Identify the skills necessary for effective vocal delivery for radio, television and online media.
- Develop the skills necessary for effective vocal delivery for radio, television and online media.
- Examine how body language and physical energy affect audience perceptions.
- Explore how to respond effectively in the moment by putting improvisation techniques into practise.
- Plan for successful media presentations.
Outcomes
- Understand how technical elements impact performance.
- Demonstrate greater confidence preparing and delivering media presentations.
- Practise enhanced physical and vocal presence.
- Display an improved ability to respond ‘in the moment’ to challenging media scenarios and to manage difficult questions effectively and calmly.
- Build on techniques to support scripted media presentations.
What to expect on the day
- Please prepare and memorise a short two-to-three-minute scripted piece you could say to camera if you were interviewed.
- Ask your colleagues to prepare four to five questions that the media might ask you if you were representing your organisation.
Catering is included as part of the course, with morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea served for all participants. If you have dietary requirements, please notify us in advance.
It is advisable to wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat shoes as there may be some movement exercises.
