Women in STEM take center stage with IMC
Can you imagine being the only woman in the room? For many women in STEM, this is still a common reality, with only 15% of STEM-qualified jobs held by women and just 37% of university enrollments in STEM being women. The industry has a long way to go in supporting women in STEM, and IMC Trading is dedicated to fostering a dynamic and innovative environment for female-identifying professionals.
IMC Trading specialises in algorithmic trading and advanced technology, leading the evolution of market making for over 30 years by buying and selling financial products and facilitating risk transfer for market participants globally.
In early 2024, the IMC Trading team in Sydney partnered with NIDA Corporate Training to deliver a tailored “Influential Women” program for future female-identifying graduates. This program aimed to equip graduates and future employees with fundamental skills, such as owning their space and speaking with authenticity in a predominantly male-dominated environment.
“Ever since the first time I stepped into a computer science class, I’ve always been the only woman there. So, I think the workshop overall is very thoughtful and very progressive as well. I’m very grateful for the opportunity,” said one of the graduates.
