Site Directions
From the City
Cross the harbour either via the Harbour Bridge or Sydney Harbour Tunnel and continue on to the Warringah Freeway before taking the Military Road exit and turning right onto Military Road. Follow Military Road to Spit Junction and turn right to stay on Military Road in Mosman. At the roundabout, take the second exit on to Bradleys Head Road and continue 1.3km before arriving at Taronga Zoo.
From the Northern Beaches
Cross the Spit Bridge and continue along Spit Road for approximately 3km before turning left on to Military Road. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Bradleys Head Road and continue 1.3km before arriving at Taronga Zoo.
From the Western Suburbs
Coming via the M2
Follow the M2 Motorway and continue on to the Lane Cove Tunnel, making a slight right at the Gore Hill Freeway. Continue on to the Warringah Freeway before exiting on the right on to the Military Road exit. Continue on to Military Road, later turning right to stay on Miliary Road in Mosman. At the roundabout, take the second exit on to Bradleys Head Road and continue 1.3km before arriving at Taronga Zoo.
Coming via the M5
Follow the M5 South West Way Motorway, merging on to General Holmes Drive. Take a slight left at the Eastern Distributor and continue onto the Cahill Expressway and continuing further on to the Sydney Harbour Tunnel. Continue on to the Warringah Freeway and exit right on to Falcon Street, continuing onto Military Road, later turning right to stay on Miliary Road in Mosman. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Bradleys Head Road and continue 1.3km before arriving at Taronga Zoo.
Parking
Parking is available at the Zoo. Entry to the car park is from Bradleys Head Road. The first 90 minutes is free and there after a day-rate is payable.
Public Transport
The quickest and easiest way to get to Taronga Zoo is by public transport. The Zoo is located 12 minutes from Circular Quay by ferry or a short bus trip from the city or North Sydney.
By Ferry
Taronga Zoo is approximately 12 minutes by ferry from the CBD. Ferries depart from Circular Quay regularly on weekdays and weekends. For up to date information please check the Transport website.
ZooExpress – Captain Cook Cruises - Captain Cook Cruises operates services departing approximately every 45 minutes from Darling Harbour and Circular Quay. Available from Captain Cook Cruises, No.6 Jetty, Circular Quay and Pier 26, Aquarium Wharf, Darling Harbour

Sydney Harbour Ecohopper – Manly Fast Ferry
Manly Fast Ferry operates hop on and hop off cruises around Sydney Harbour. Cruises depart approximately every 60 minutes from Darling Harbour and Circular Quay. Available from No.6 Jetty, Circular Quay and the Aquarium Wharf Jetty (in front of the Aquarium), Darling Harbour.
By Bus
From the City
The 247 via Military Road and Bradleys Head Road to Taronga Zoo can be caught from Wynyard – Stand A (Carrington St) or QVB Stand D (York St).
From the North
From Chatswood Interchange – Stand J take the 257 via Victoria Ave, Penshurst Street, Willoughby Road, Pacific Highway, Falcon Street and Military Road. Change at Mosman Junction and take the 247 via Military Road and Bradleys Head Road to Taronga Zoo.
Alternatively, from the Chatswood Interchange, take the 143 from Stand M via Pacific Highway, Falcon Street and Military Road. Disembark near Cowles Road and take the 247 via Military Rd and Bradleys Head Road to Taronga Zoo.
From lower North Shore
From Balmoral Beach, take the 238 from The Esplanade via Raglan Street, Wolseley Road, Middle Head Road and Bradleys Head Road to Taronga Zoo.
From Clifton Gardens, take the 228 from Morella Road via Thompson Street to Whiting Beach Road for a short walk to Taronga Zoo.
From the Northern Beaches
Coming from Manly, Balgowlah, Brookvale, Dee Why or Narrabeen, take a bus to Spit Junction and change for the 247 via Military Road and Bradleys Head Road to Taronga Zoo.
By Train
Catch a train to Circular Quay, then take a ferry to Taronga Zoo wharf. Ferries depart from Circular Quay every quarter-past and quarter-to the hour. Or take a train to Wynyard Station to connect with the 247 bus from Stand A.

Taronga Zoo is located on Bradleys Head, Mosman.
Please meet your tutor at the main entrance ahead of class, where a roll call will be taken. Your course fee includes the cost of entry to the Zoo so your tutor will take the class into the venue when all participants have arrived. If you are the parent or guardian of a younger student attending one of our courses, please note if you wish to enter the Zoo you will need to purchase a ticket for entry individually.
NIDA will supply a participant list to the venue in case of latecomers however we do request you make every effort to be on time for class as lateness impacts your fellow students.
