Overview

For anyone who is looking to overcome nerves, step forward in their professional lives and speak up. In this one-day course you will get practical techniques to manage your nerves and become a more confident presenter. Using techniques from the actor’s toolkit, our expert tutors will teach you how to shape your content and land your message. This is a creative, fun and practical course designed to gently push you out of your comfort zone, give you control over how you present, and help you learn to love your audience.

Course components

• Examine individual responses to presenting and assess techniques for confident presentations.
• Practise aligning breath and body, skills that allow you to control your presentation style.
• Consider concepts, structures and content to engage and inspire your audience.
• Set objectives and identify the means by which to secure them.
• Practise short presentations and receive constructive feedback and direction.

Outcomes

• Demonstrate confidence when presenting to small and large audiences, including both online and face to face platforms.
• Identify your individual presenting skills strengths and challenges.
• Implement strategies to engage and influence your audience.
• Practise techniques to manage nerves and their impact on your performance.

Face-to-face at training venue
9am–5pm one full day

How to prepare

Please prepare a short presentation of up to 2 minutes, which is current and pertinent to your work. You will not need to prepare or bring PowerPoint slides for your presentation, however, feel free to bring presentation notes if you need a reference.

We look forward to welcoming you from 8:30 am for tea & coffee. Please make sure you arrive by 8:45 am to ensure a prompt start, and wear comfortable clothing to move around in.

Arrival tea & coffee, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.

Course Fee
